Azurite is known as The Stone of Heaven and has been used for metaphysical purposes across many cultures going back to early civilizations. Its dark-blue energy resonates to the exact frequency of the Third-Eye Chakra. Azurite is often found in nature mixed with Malachite, another copper carbonate mineral, this one with a bright green color. Together, in polished form, they resemble Mother Earth and carry not only their individual properties, but a powerful blend of healing energies.  It can stimulate intellect as well as intuition.

In Ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, and the Persian Empire, Azurite was highly prized – all of these cultures considered blue to be a sacred color.  During the Medieval and Renaissance period, it was the primary blue pigment used for painting.
