In Ancient Rome, Hematite was a popular stone for decorative purposes. Jewelry, weapons, and even armor decorated with Hematite were traded widely. This shiny, dark colored stone is found all over the world. It is made mainly of iron, which gives it its metallic sheen.

It’s important to note that anything called "Magnetic Hematite" is not actually Hematite but rather is man made and looks like Hematite.
